Privacy Policy
GNU Today is published for readers, not for advertisers. We collect the minimum information needed to run the site and improve content. This page explains exactly what that means.
What we collect
Anonymous, aggregated traffic data via a privacy-respecting analytics platform: page path, referrer, country (not city), device type (mobile/desktop), and approximate visit duration. We do not collect IP addresses, do not set cross-site cookies, and do not load third-party tracking scripts.
What we don't collect
No personal information. No accounts, no logins, no email lists. No behavioural advertising profiles. No fingerprinting. No session recordings or heatmaps. If you read this site without contacting us, we do not know who you are.
Cookies
The site uses one first-party session cookie strictly for caching and content delivery. It contains no personal information and expires when you close your browser. You can block it without affecting your ability to read articles.
Server logs
Standard web server access logs are retained for 14 days for operational purposes (debugging, abuse detection) and then deleted. Logs are not analyzed for behavioural patterns or shared with third parties.
